Dear Parents,
The school year has come to a close. I have enjoyed my time with your children, my students. Together, we practiced math concepts that help us deal with present and future real life math situations. We experienced the mysteries of ancient Egypt and discovered the wonderful world of Shakespeare. We learned tolerance and compassion for others as we studied Martin Luther King and Black History. We examined our own roles in the lives of those around us as we had candid dialogues during English and ERC classes. We discovered different cultures and religions and learned that people have many things in common despite their differences.
I have had the pleasure of watching your children grow academically and emotionally. Please encourage them to continue their learning over the summer. They should enjoy reading books, magazines, etc. and carry on practicing math to prepare them for grade 6. I invited the children to check out my website periodically during the summer as I will try to post links I think will be both helpful and interesting to them.
Have a happy, healthy & safe summer filled with laughter, family and friends.
